C-DAR Biodynamic Society
Purposes and Goals
Society Purposes:
- To heighten public awareness of the environmental problems and solutions regarding soil vitality throughout the world.
- To share information and educate the public about systems and methods for sustainable soil management and remediation.
- To facilitate the making of biodynamic preparations for soil renewal and restoration.
- To encourage the development and application of eco-sustainable techniques for home gardens, farms and forests locally and worldwide, which provide nutritious organic/biodynamic food.
We plan to expand our experiential education offerings in biodynamic and organic agriculture to reach a wide audience. Our goals for 2010 include:
- Providing 5 one-day Introduction to Biodynamics workshops.
- Providing 2 one-week intensive Biodynamic Preparation Making courses for farmers/gardeners who would like more in depth knowledge.
- Preparing for and hosting apprentices under the new North American Biodynamic Apprenticeship Program (www.bdtraining.org/).
- Establishing a bee sanctuary in a large old cedar stump, introducing the bees to their new home and observing their well-being.
- Producing and applying biodynamic preparations. The whole experience of creating and using the preparations encourages people to be more aware of natural rhythms and processes.
- Hosting educational/interpretive tours of C-Dar Lodge Farm for a variety of audiences.
